Google Chat is available only for organizations enabled by Serval. Message the Serval app directly, or mention it in a space. Direct messages do not require the optional space subscription described below. Google’s ordinary app message triggers include DMs and app mentions. Google message triggers

Unmentioned space messages

An additional connection can deliver messages in a named, threaded space without an app mention. It requires Serval operator setup, Google Workspace administrator authorization, and a separate opt-in for each connected space. Availability does not mean a space is receiving messages; check its delivery status. In the Google Chat app’s help-desk settings, open Unmentioned messages on the connected space, then enable Receive unmentioned space messages. The selected response mode still applies. On demand requires a mention to start a request; a permitted unmentioned reply can continue its existing ticket. Until delivery is active, mention Serval in each space reply. DMs continue through their existing connection and do not receive space subscriptions. Turning the setting off stops that connection’s intake immediately; Google-side cleanup can finish afterward. Disconnecting or removing and re-adding the app requires a fresh space opt-in. Another team’s existing opt-in to the same space is preserved. Serval manages the Google app and Cloud infrastructure for the hosted deployment. Customers authorize the app in Workspace; this setup does not ask them to buy a Google add-on or attach their own Cloud billing account. Workspace Events requires a billed Cloud project, and Pub/Sub usage can incur infrastructure charges. This page does not define Serval commercial pricing or promise free delivery.
