About Firstbase

Firstbase is an IT asset management and equipment logistics platform that helps companies manage their hardware lifecycle—from procurement and deployment to retrieval and offboarding. It handles device ordering, inventory tracking, and shipping to employees worldwide.

The Firstbase API supports common IT and HRIS workflows including:
  • HRIS Use Cases: Account provisioning (onboarding), updating user details, and de-provisioning (offboarding)
  • ITSM Use Cases: Getting details and updates on inventory tracked in Firstbase
  • Catalog & Ordering: Viewing the Firstbase catalog and placing orders via API

Firstbase Configuration

Prerequisites

  • You must have Admin access to your Firstbase account

Generate an API Key

Log in to Firstbase

Navigate to app.firstbasehq.com and sign in as an Admin user.

Access API settings

Click on the Settings menu in the top navigation bar, then select Firstbase API.

Create a new token

Provide a name for your token (e.g., “Serval Integration” or “Production”).
Tokens never expire by default. If you need to rotate tokens, you can delete old tokens in the Firstbase app UI.

Navigate to Firstbase integration

In Serval, go to Apps → Available → Firstbase → Connect

Enter your API key

Paste the API key you generated in Firstbase.

Save the connection

Click Submit to complete the integration setup.
Verify the connection is successful by checking the integration healthchecks.
