> Clearer choices for knowledge publish approvals.

## Clearer knowledge publish approvals

Open **Knowledge → Approvals** to set your team's publishing default and review
each knowledge base's current approval requirement. The approval control now
uses a dropdown with an explanation for each choice:

* **Use default** replaces **Inherit** and follows the closest applicable rule,
  including future changes to it.
* **Require approval** sets a review requirement for that scope.
* **Publish without approval** replaces **Not required** and creates an explicit
  exception, even when a broader rule requires review.

The same choices appear in page version history and source settings. These rules
control review before publishing; they do not change who can read or edit
knowledge. Connected-source updates do not enter the publish approval queue.
